Pencak Silat Betawi-Indonesian Martial Art.

These videos show you a traditional Betawi people marshal art. Betawi is an original ethnic of people that previously live in Batavia from generation, ( now is Jakarta ) which are the main culture identity for this town.





Besides the culture's symbol like Ondel-Ondel doll, and their folk dance...Betawi people also known with their ability in this kind of marshal art named Pencak Silat. A new action film about it has just released this month tittled "Merantau".



These young girls and boys you've seen on the videos has just won their Pencak Silat competition which was held recently and been followed by participants all over the province.



In order to celebrate The Indonesian Independence Day on August 17th, 2009...they act in a show for their region.
